Elton John live in Leeds

Elton John is returning to Leeds.

Elton John will perform at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on Wednesday 4th September, in the only UK indoor date he is doing this year.

This performance will be the first one for the famous singer and his band in Leeds for nearly 30 years. Elton John said “It is difficult to believe that it has taken so long for such a large city to get its own arena, but it has certainly been worth the wait. I am delighted to have been invited to be one of the first artists to perform in what will be a wonderful new venue.”

His last performance in the city was in 1984 when he performed at the Queens Hall. The show has been welcomed by local councillors as a boost to the area, promoting Leeds Arena as one of the best venues in Europe. Keith Wakefield, Leeds City Council Leader said, “This demonstrates very clearly that Leeds Arena will be a key stop on the international touring circuit for the world’s biggest performers.’

Fans of the highly successful solo artist will have a lot to look forward to. Reviews of shows from earlier in the year year sparkling, with fans pleased with the mix of famous hits and lesser known songs, punctuated by the great rapport that John has with his fans. During a show in Nashville, John said to his fans, “You make me so, so happy. I love playing for you guys. It never gets old, and it never gets tiring, and it never loses its flavour.’

Parking for the event is easy. Just leave your car securely at our Merrion Centre and First Direct Leeds Arena car park and enjoy the show.
