The Merrion Centre Multi-storey car park - New and improved offer - £1 per hour for the first three hours

Following the recent investment in the latest technology in car parking management system by CitiPark (CitiPark), they have decided to improve the special weekend parking offer by extending the hours that shoppers and visitors can pay only £1 per hour for the first three hours of their stay. People can now take advantage of the cheapest parking in a multi-storey in Leeds for three hour visits between 7am and 7pm.

The Merrion Centre car park in the Arena Quarter in Leeds city centre is the closest car park to the First Direct Leeds Arena and one of only two official Leeds City Council approved car parks.

CitiPark have also doubled the number of automated payment machines to 8 and have installed a “tidal” lane so that they can switch between entry and exit to suit the flow and meet any increased demand.

Ben Ziff, Managing Director of CitiPark (CitiPark) said: “The new parking system is the latest contactless and ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) camera technology to the Merrion car park meaning car users can access and exit the car park without even having to wind down their window. We are really pleased how well the system has halved entry and exit times and plenty of customers have told us that they love the simplicity of the new system”.

Mr Ziff continued: “After the success of the new system when Bruce Springsteen performed we looked at how else we could improve our offering to our customers and decided that we should re-launch the £1 per hour weekend offer with longer hours so that more customers could benefit from the unbeatable hourly parking tariff which we have retained at £1 since November 2010”.
