Christmas Shopping
Famous for its John Lewis department store, intu Watford has loads of great shops perfect for those stocking fillers, such as WHSmith and The Body Shop. Look out for Santa too – not only can you take home a gift-wrapped present from Father Christmas himself, you can even have a go at building a snowman outside his grotto whilst you wait to see him.
You'll also be able to tick some items off your Christmas list on Watford High Street, with stores like New Look, Topshop, Topman, Computer Exchange and Next. Watford has all the brands you’d expect from a town this size, so you’re more than likely to find what you’re looking for.
Seasonal Events & Activities
This year, for the first time ever, New Watford Market is playing host to an extra special German Christmas Market. Expect all the usual festive cheer, with traditional wooden chalets selling a range of seasonal treats, including German sausages, toys, accessories, mulled wine, beer, stollen and more. The market also includes a carousel for children (and grown-up children), and close by you can enjoy the outdoor ice skating rink – covered with real ice and decorated with twinkling lights.
If that wasn’t not enough, you can head to the Watford Colosseum to catch Santa Claus and The Christmas Adventure. If you want to see a festive family pantomime, Dick Whittington is on at the Watford Palace Theatre. And if you’re more in the mood for Christmas comedy, check out the stand-up over at Jongleurs.
Festive Food & Drink
If you need a break from shopping there are plenty of places you can rest your feet and grab a warm bite to eat. If you like Indian food we highly recommend Taste of Lahore. If you feel in the mood for Mexican then Chimichanga is the place to go, or check out Flowerdrum and Zinco for excellent Chinese or Italian.
