Events at Leeds Town Hall this Christmas
Leeds Town Hall is preparing itself for a magical lineup of events this Christmas to entertain the city over the festive period. From films to live music, there’s something for all ages.
Starting on the 21st December, there’ll be some of the most exciting festive films from recent years being shown at Leeds Town Hall. Sunday December 21st sees the heart-warming ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ on the big screen, alongside a special double-bill of ‘The Nutcracker’ and ‘The Snowman’ being accompanied by a live orchestra. It’s the perfect way to begin the exciting build-up to Christmas Day!
Monday 22nd sees showings of the Christmas-themed action classic ‘Die Hard’, the forever hilarious ‘Home Alone’ and ‘Monty Python’s Life of Brian’. December 22nd and 23rd also see a ‘Frozen Sing-Along’ hitting Leeds. Bring all the family dressed as the stars Anna, Elsa or Olaf and sing along with all of your favourite songs from the film.
On Tuesday December 23rd, there’ll be showings of festive favourite ‘Elf’, as well as ‘The Wizard of Oz’.
If festival films aren’t your cup of tea, then why not catch some of the musical highlights at Leeds Town Hall. On the 18th of December there’ll be the 2014 Lord Mayor’s Carol Concerts accompanied by the well-loved Rothwell Temperance Brass Band. The 28th of December sees the Viennese Whirl taking over for a wonderful afternoon of Viennese waltzes, marches and polkas from the Orchestra of Opera North.
For adults only, there’s also ‘The Wood Beneath The World’ experience. Combining Lord Whitney's visually stunning sets with immersive performance, sound and lighting, The Wood Beneath the World is a truly mesmerising experience not to be forgotten. This is your chance to explore a place underneath the world as you know it, a world filled with secrets, hidden rooms and unexpected turns.
There’s also a chance to enjoy a unique pop-up bar in the Town Hall’s old victorian cells featuring specially crafted mulled wine and cider, craft beers and much more.
