Now the Summer festival season is well and truly over, it’s time for the biggest acts in entertainment to launch their spectacular Autumn and Winter tours. Leeds is lucky enough to have one of the most state of the art venues in the UK to welcome them to the city.
If you’re looking for some excitement as the nights draw in and the weather gets colder, then look no further than the First Direct Arena, Leeds. With some of the world’s most famous comedians, rock bands, musicals and sports entertainment, there’s something for all tastes.
Here’s our pick of what’s coming up at the First Direct Arena:
John Bishop
Now a household name, John Bishop has grown and grown in popularity. With constant appearances on TV programmes such as Mock The Week, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and QI, it comes as no surprise that he’s embarking on another UK arena tour.
Luckily for Leeds, he’ll be performing two shows on the 6th and 13th of November. Not to be missed!
WWE Live
Get ready for action! Following its success earlier in the year, the WWE returns to the First Direct Arena for a spectacular night of wrestling entertainment. With an impressive card featuring Kane and Bray Wyatt vs Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler vs Cesaro, The USO’s vs Gold and Stardust plus many more, Leeds will be welcoming the biggest superstars from the WWE universe.
Bryan Adams
Making his debut at the First Direct Arena, Bryan Adams will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of his smash hit album ‘Reckless’. His first UK arena tour since 2011, and his first appearance in Leeds since his show at Millennium Square in 2002, he’ll be playing some of his most famous hits including ‘Run To You’, ‘Heaven’, ‘Summer of 69’ and more.
The Who
In what will undoubtedly be a special appearance, The Who will be celebrating 50 years of rock and roll this December. The Who are particularly known for their album ‘Live At Leeds’, which was recorded at the university back in 1970 and commonly recognised as one of the greatest live recordings of all time. This nostalgia, combined with the fantastic First Direct Arena, will prove to be a night to remember.
Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds
Known as one of the most ground-breaking tours of all time, Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds is coming to the First Direct Arena for the first and last time. Touring the UK for the 6th time, producers have decided to end the production after years of great success. This time, Jeff Wayne returns to conduct the 9-piece Black Smoke Band and 36-piece String orchestra, alongside a selection of special guests.
