What To Do In Leeds During The Summer Holidays - Part II
The summer holidays are in full swing here in Leeds. We've had some fantastic weather so far and we've seen some fantastic events throughout the city. There are still a few weeks left to enjoy what Leeds has to offer though.
Last we looked at some of the exciting things to do including Go-Karting at PPIK, the Thackray Medical Museum and the Royal Armouries. But what else does Leeds have to offer during the summer holidays?
Here are a few more of our picks:
The Works Skatepark
Fancy getting into some extreme sport? The Works skatepark has been open in Leeds since 2003 and has been the home to the city's skateboarders, BMXers, and roller bladers ever since.
Great fun for all ages, the skatepark features a whole host of areas to learn and improve skills. Section one is the big street featuring an array of driveways, quarter pipes, blocks, flat banks and more. Section two is called easy street and includes a long line of obstacles for all levels and styles of skating. Section 3 is the pool for the professionals and is a one of a kind ramp that attracts talent from all over the country.
Those attending between the ages of 6-10 need to complete an induction to pass a health and safety test to use the park.

Bowling
Bowling might seem like an obvious choice, however Leeds is really starting to embrace it. Over at the Merrion Centre there's MFA Bowl, which features multiple lanes, UV lighting and a DJ to get you in the party mood. Open until 12am, you can stay late and there are always some great offers to make it an affordable trip out.
Another option is the newly opened Roxy Lanes, situated on Bond Street. With four lanes, it's not the largest, but it makes up for it with fantastic cocktails, pizza, and music. Aimed at an older audience, Roxy Lanes is one of the most exciting new developments to hit Leeds.
Why not head down to one of the city's bowling alleys and aim for a strike?
The Tetley
The Tetley has really become one of the new go-to places for learning about contemporary art and more. Situated in the old Tetley Brewery in the city centre, it's a fantastic venue and features a brilliant bar and restaurant too.
Throughout the summer holidays they've got some fantastic exhibitions to entertain all ages. Every weekend there are “Springboard Saturdays', which are creative family fun where visitors can make anything from simple prints, to designing robots, book making and many more crafts. There's also the “Nous Vous: A Watery Line' exhibition, which includes an array of workshops and performances.
