What's Happening At Leeds Dock?
Back in June we wrote about how Clarence Dock is undergoing an exciting transformation to become Leeds Dock. From property redevelopment, to a bustling business hub, it's all happening. Not only that though, it's becoming quite the event space. We've put together a list of what's coming up over the next few months.
Between now and the end of the year, Leeds Dock will be hosting events for all tastes and ages. Here are a few of the awesome events that have been announced:
Sleep Out With Simon: September 25th-26th
A unique charity helping a great cause, Simon on the Streets offers street-based support for those in need. Working across Leeds, Huddersfield and Bradford, they provide help for the homeless across the region.
This September, they’re challenging you to “Sleep out with Simon’ and experience what it’s like spending a night sleeping “rough’ in Leeds city centre. The sponsored sleep out is going to be held in Armouries Square as a way of raising awareness and money for those in need. From 7pm on the 25th September, people will sleeping out to see what it really feels like.

Outdoor Cinema: September 26th / 27th / 28th
Following its success over the summer, the outdoor cinema returns to Armouries Square this September.
First up on Friday 26th of September they’ll be showing the classic version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to coincide with the upcoming release of the new version in cinemas. Watch Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael save the city and fight back against the evil Shredder. This will be shown at 18:30pm. Cowabunga dudes!
Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th sees the Superhero Cinema weekend arrive to Leeds. With three showings a day featuring some of the best superhero movies around, it’s sure to be one exciting weekend.
Saturday 27th showings will be:
12PM – The Incredibles
3PM – Superman (Starring Christopher Reeve)
7PM – X-Men – First Class
Sunday 28th showings include:
12PM – Kung Fu Panda
2.30PM – Avengers Assemble
6PM – The Dark Knight
All of the screenings are free!
Remember, make sure you bring a blanket, picnics and a rain coat. It’s a rain or shine event!
Comic Convention: November 9th – 16th
One of the largest in the UK, this annual celebration returns to Leeds Dock this November. Featuring exhibits from artists, writers and much more, it’s proved to be a success year after year. A special two day convention closes the festival on the 15th and 16th of November, which brings over 300 tables showcasing everything you’d ever want to know about comics. Don’t miss out!
Leeds Dock Markets: November 29th – 30th
Now this we’re excited about.
Details are scarce at the moment, but this November we’ll see an exciting market hitting Leeds Dock that’s due to feature a whole host of street food and vintage stalls. Get ready, it’s sure to be one of the best events this Autumn. Watch this space.
